My kind of sculpture makes the cut for inductive art because my approach could be entitled “Waite and see” what evolves.  Each  of my projects started with a discarded piece a tree. I just started to cut, grind, sand, and finish following the natural shape of the wood until the design spirit inspired me to compliment a previously cut shape until it was the total shape (piece of wood) was fully complimented (finished). The first sculpture came from a tree that my HOA said had to be removed. The next came from a piece of tree trunk my son gave me.  The third and fourth were fashioned from small tree/bush stumps with the root structure still connected. Both of the root structures were sitting on the side of the road waiting for the city to remove them. The city did not reward me for saving them the trouble. 

I doubt I could have designed what nature had started.
